FAQ
SECTION: DARK SPOTS OR DARK CIRCLES
Q: Why is my quartz countertop stained?
A: Quartz is a non-porous surface, but it is still susceptible to certain factors:
- Excessive heat
- Harsh chemicals
- Certain liquids such as wine or coffee
- Use of cleaning products not suitable for quartz
Q: Why is my marble countertop stained?
A: Marble is a porous natural stone.
If it is not properly sealed, it easily absorbs:
- water
- grease
- acidic liquids
This is what causes stains or rings over time.
Q: Why do hardware store products cause problems?
A: Most products sold in stores (such as hardware stores) are not specifically designed for natural stone or quartz.
They can:
- damage the existing protection
- leave residue
- accelerate the appearance of stains
That is why it is recommended to use specialized professional products, such as the StoneTech brand
Q: How can I prevent stains and marks on my natural stone or quartz countertop?
A: Here are some best practices:
- Apply a sealant at least twice a year for marble
- Clean up spills immediately
- Use only products designed for stone
- Avoid abrasive or chemical products
- Do not cut directly on the countertop
- Do not use magic erasers
- Avoid placing pots directly on the surface
- Do not use permanently damp drying mats
- It is recommended not to use a slow cooker directly on the countertop. Always use a protective mat to prevent damage.
Q: Do you offer maintenance products?
A: Yes. We offer professional products specifically designed to:
- protect the stone
- extend its lifespan
- prevent stains
Unlike standard products, these are tailored to the realities of the trade
SECTION: COUNTER CUTS
Q: Does cutting create dust?
A: Yes, cutting can generate dust. However, we set up a complete polyethylene barrier to enclose the work area, like a closed enclosure, to minimize the spread of dust as much as possible. There may still be a slight residue, but we clean and disinfect thoroughly before leaving.
Q: Do you finish the surface after cutting?
A: Yes. Each cut is followed by a professional finish to ensure a clean, smooth, and attractive result.
Q: Do I need to bring the pieces to your workshop?
A: In the case of enlarging a hole for a sink, kitchen countertop, or cooktop, it is not necessary to bring the pieces to us. However, if you have a piece of marble, quartz, or another material that you wish to customize or modify, it is more convenient for the customer to bring it to our workshop. This allows us to create a custom piece that precisely meets your needs, particularly for size reductions or adjustments specific to your space.
Q: Is there a risk that my countertop will crack during the cutting process?
A: No. When performed by professionals using the proper techniques, there is no risk of cracking.
Q: Does the new cooktop or stove need to be on site?
A: Yes, ideally. This ensures a cut that fits perfectly to the exact dimensions.
SECTION: POLISHING
Q: Is the polishing process messy or dusty?
A: No. We use a wet polishing method that significantly reduces dust. All surrounding surfaces are protected with plastic sheeting.
Q: Do I need to protect my cabinets and floor before you arrive?
A: No. We fully protect cabinets, floors, and work areas before we begin.
Q: Does polishing change the color or thickness of the countertop?
A: The thickness does not change. However, some countertops, particularly black ones, may lighten slightly after treatment.
Q: How long does the polishing take?
A: Between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the surface and its condition.
Q: Will my countertop look brand new after you’re done?
A: Yes. We can restore your surface to 90%–100% of its original condition.
Q: Do the faucets and cooktop need to be removed?
A: Yes, in most cases, they need to be removed to ensure a complete polish with no untreated areas. However, if removing the faucets isn’t necessary, we’ll let you know.
Q: How should I prepare before you arrive?
A: Just clear the countertop. We’ll take care of the rest.
SECTION: CHIP REPAIR
Q: Will the repair be visible?
A: In most cases, the repair is very discreet, almost invisible. We carefully match the color using high-quality pigments and epoxy. However, when a chip is located directly on the visible surface, the process becomes more complex and a slight mark may remain.
Q: What is the warranty?
A: We offer a 2-year warranty on the durability of the repair. Our repairs are designed to last several years under normal conditions. The materials used are professional-grade and ensure high resistance, allowing the repair to remain stable over time.
Q: Process
A: Each repair includes surface preparation, the application of a precise mixture, visual matching, and polishing to achieve a uniform finish. In the vast majority of cases, the repair is performed directly on-site. In certain specific situations, workshop work may be required—you will be informed in advance.
